Camilo Benitez Brings Ground-Up Finance Experience to Turning Point
SEATTLE, WA - Turning Point Strategic Advisors is pleased to welcome Camilo Benitez as a Senior Consultant. Camilo joins the firm with meaningful experience in finance, operations, accounting, and analytics.
Camilo most recently spent five years with the Seattle Kraken, joining while the franchise was still being built. He managed financial processes during construction of the Kraken Community Iceplex, which includes the team’s corporate offices, three ice rinks, dining, and a clinic. Once the facility opened, he helped establish its financial infrastructure, implementing systems for revenue and expenses, and developing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. He also created P&L reporting, analyzed budgets and forecasts, and presented financial results in clear visual formats for stakeholders.
“Camilo helped build the financial foundation of an organization from its very beginning,” said Alan Chaffee, CEO of Turning Point. “He has put systems in place, solved problems as they surfaced, and seen how quickly a growing operation can outpace its processes. Camilo has the experience to help Turning Point clients identify issues and build solutions.”
Earlier in his career, Camilo worked in accounting and forecasting at a transportation and logistics company and as an auditor at KPMG. Those roles showed him how accurate reporting and forward planning shape a business’s day-to-day decisions, and sparked his interest in improving the processes behind them.
“At the Kraken, I enjoyed building something from the ground up - figuring out what was needed, improving processes, and seeing those changes take hold,” said Camilo. “Turning Point gives me the chance to bring what I’ve learned to a diverse client base. I’m looking forward to learning how each one works and taking on a new set of challenges.”
Camilo earned an MBA with a concentration in Data Analytics from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Georgia State University. Based in Seattle, he enjoys spending time outdoors and has recently discovered a passion for boating.
